4-H Youth Development Program

Citizenship, Leadership, Life Skills - The opportunities to do and learn are endless and the Modoc 4-H Program is no exception.  It began in 1926 because of the hard work of nineteen year old visionary Joe Laver.  The first year there were 98 members in six clubs located in Alturas, Cedarville, Davis Creek, Fort Bidwell, Likely and New Pine Creek.

Today the Modoc 4-H Program is made up of 285 members and 125 adult volunteers in 12 clubs.  With 38 projects offered, there is something for everyone.  Want more?  There are leadership and community service opportunities at the local, county, state and national levels.  Still want more?  4-H offers adventures in Sacramento, Washington D.C., Australia, Finland, and Japan.  Want to Join the fun?  Call the 4-H office today!
